    David Lipsey

    Lord David Lawrence Lipsey is a political and economic journalist who initally started his career as a researcher for the GMWU. He served in several positions for the Labour Party in the 1970s but with the defeat of Labour in 1979 Lipsey began his career in journalism.

    After reaching the position of political editor for The Economist, he turned to politics when he served on the Jenkin's Commission between 1997 and 1998. The commission was tasked with identifying the most appropriate voting system for elections in the House of Commons, as an alternative to the first past the post system[1].
